Yehoshua Wiseman
Yehoshua (Joshua) Wiseman,(36), grew up mainly in Pasadena, California, where his parents still reside. After high school he set off to UC Berkeley, but his heart yearned for the Land of Israel, and after one year of university studies began a quest to find meaning and truth in Israel. There he began observing the mitzvoth and learning Torah in various yeshivot. At age twenty four he found his wife Yaffa, a native of Jerusalem where he was learning at the time. After, periods of dwelling and learning in Jerusalem, Tzfat, Gush Etzion, and Gush Talmon, Yehoshua began to connect with the teachings of Breslev Hasidism. He met the Hasidic leader Rabbi Eliezer Berland of Jerusalem, and finally, felt that he had found the mentor, for whom he had searched for so long. Rabbi Berland, Shlit"a, encouraged Yehoshua to pursue his artistic endeavors and to move to Jerusalem.
Yehoshua and Yaffa now live in Jerusalem with their four children, Baruch HaShem.
Yehoshua's work is exhibited in several galleries in Jerusalem.
